AvtoVAZ withdraws 3,994 cars due to brake booster issues

MOSCOW, Oct 7 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ has withdrawn 3,994 Lada Granta cars due to possible troubles with vacuum break boosters, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology said in a statement on Monday.

“The Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology informs about its agreement with a plan of measures in the framework of voluntary revocation of 3,994 Lada Granta cars. The action plan is presented by AvtoVAZ, the official producer of Lada on the Russian market. The goal of the withdrawal is a test of the back-pressure valve of brake boosters,” the authority said.

The ruler also said that AvtoVAZ will repair the cars free of charge for their owners.
